26.9.14, 11.55-12.30, Mikrorayon 3B, Tobolsk

This breakfast included things we managed to obtain from a “Produkti” shop, where groceries are ordered from behind the counter – meaning that it consisted of things whose name we either know in Russian, or things we could successfully point at. Luckily the service at the shop was very warm-hearted, patient and forgiving.

  • bread
  • gouda cheese
  • tomatoes
  • parsley
  • 1 orange
  • 1 kiwi
  • 2 cranberry cookies
  • figs
  • blueberry-wheat yogurt
  • mint tea with lemon and honey
  • apple juice
  • a shot of Russian berry liquor “Klukvennaya”, which we got as a farewell present from Mike, our host in Moscow. When warmed up, the liquor tastes quite like German Glühwein. Ah, Weihnachtsmarkt!
