We stayed in Irkutsk
for just one full day, but will be back on Sunday. The time in
between we spend Bolshie Koty, a village of roughly one hundred
people on the coast of lake Baikal. There is no road to the village,
so we prepared for a 24 km walk along forest paths with the following
breakfast:
- biscuits and tea provided by the hostel
- oatmeal porridge with raspberry jam
- cheese
- tomato
- peach flavoured yogurt
- kiwi flavoured quark for Elina (as usual, Mikko couldn't wait and ate his already yesterday)
Once in Listvyanka
village, where our walk would start, we continued the breakfast with
delicious smoked Omul, a salmon-related fish which lives only in Lake Baikal.
