In
Chicago we got very, very lucky with our accommodation. Elina's
sister Maija lives in Chicago with her husband Jim and their nearly
2-year-old daughter Annika. They had recently bought a new house, but
it needed to be renovated before they would move in. So basically we
had a three-floor unfurnished house for ourselves. The previous
owners had left an incredible amount of stuff in the house, which now
was stored in the basement, and in the attic where we slept. Counting
all the mattresses piled up in the attic, there would have been a
comfortable place to sleep for 14 people.
