Francesco had had a funny encounter in his first months living in Providence. During his shift at the Cable Car café, this guy had walked in and ordered a cappuccino. "You pronounce 'cappuccino' too well to be an American", Francesco had noted. The guy, Paolo, turned out to be not only Italian, but from the same city - Turin - as Francesco, and an ex-boss of one of Francesco's best friends, working in the same building where Francesco and his wife Alice used to live.
And of course, in a town of the size of Providence, the Italians would know the Spaniards, who would know the Latin Americans, et cetera, so in no time we found ourselves having brunch in mostly Mediterranean-speaking company.
- watermelon-walnut-spinach-blue cheese salad
- vegetarian wrap with fries
- “home-made” potato wedges
- a spicy Margarita for Mikko
- a sparkling wine -based cocktail for Elina
