The weather had been overcast and surprisingly cold throuhgout our stay in NongKhai, but we persisted in using the provided outside swimmingpool. This morning the sky was clear, but as we arrived to the poolside, the cool breeze made us hesitate. We drew back, and decided to wait over breakfast for the sun to rise higher and heat up – if not the water, at least the air above it.
After
yesterday, we felt obliged to still insist that we don't eat meat.
The waiter, who didn't speak English, called in the attendant with
whom we had been speaking the previous days. Without really even
listening to our matter she replied “Yes, I know”, and, what we
got for breakfast was
- yellow and red juices
- black tea
- toast with butter, strawberry jam and pineapple jam
- fried egg with three pieces of sausage
Replacing
the sausages, we topped up the egg with the ginger, dried onion and
coriander that were meant for the rice congee – we figured there
were pieces of meat in the congee itself, too.
