An extremely early breakfast, as we were about to leave Luang Namtha.

• one more Standard breakfast, with scrambled eggs
• one more fruit salad with yoghurt, mysli and honey
• two more fried eggs
• two more ginger teas

We ended up staying in Luang Namtha for a week, and never even left the town area (most visitors come here to do trekking and visit the “authentic” minority villages). On the other hand, the guest house has a magnificient terrace.

Today we're heading to Luang Phrabang, which lies 300 kilometres south of Luang Namtha. By minivan the trip takes nine hours – which might give you an idea of the straightness and condition of the road...
